Sweet Wife and I were introduced to Eva Cassidy’s music while talking to her dad while sitting on the screened porch overlooking Lake Guntersville. (At least I was and I think she was too.)
Her dad has far-ranging musical tastes and I look forward to whatever he shares with us. He likes to sit back and be taken to wherever the song is supposed to take you. He really immerses himself into the songs he shares — and he wants us to sink in there with him. In most cases, he shares a story about the artist, where he and Sweet Wife’s mom first heard the artist and then he usually shares some other anecdotes.
As the summer wanes and we head toward fall, I’m sad that we probably won’t hear any more of these stories this year and I hope to hear many more next year.
