I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, – Philippians 1:3
For many of us, Memorial Day annually reminds us of the end of school, the beginning of summer and a long weekend.
But, of course, there’s something else, a deeper meaning here. Officially, this isn’t a day of celebration, but a day of remembrance. Today is set aside so that we will remember those that gave their all for us in the service of their country.
Our family, led by me, doesn’t do a very good job of this. In fact, most years go by without a word of remembrance or a prayer to God in thanks.
Today, though, let us do it differently. Let us remember those who have given all and let us thank our Heavenly Father for His care of us.
