Happy Birthday

Sweet Wife’s birthday is this week, so I’m using this opportunity to send her a birthday message and to tell the world about her.

Sweet Wife came along and a relationship with her helped me to understand that God is gracious and kind.  She’s the kind of woman who builds my esteem – often times inappropriately so, because she is so gorgeous.  When I walk into a room with her on my arm, I know I belong because everyone thinks there must be something special about the goofy guy with the gorgeous wife.

Sweet Wife is the kind of woman that other women want to emulate and other men want to be around.  She’s the kind of woman who is kind and compassionate to everyone she meets and she stands up for the rights of those who can’t stand for themselves.  She’s the kind of woman who genuinely listens to you and genuinely cares about you – no matter who you are.

Sweet Wife is the kind of mom that sets a righteous path for her children and a mother who is committed to showing these children Jesus Christ and the gospel.  She’s the kind of mom who is so demonstrative of her faith that her children often want to flee.  But she also demonstrates the kind of genuine faith that her children want return to and want to embrace because they see it as the only true way.

Sweet Wife can be jealous of others.  She pours her heart and soul into her marriage and wants to see her faithfulness returned to her with a gaze only upon her.  But she’s the kind of wife a man can’t live without, the kind of woman a man runs to rain or shine.

Sweet Wife is the Proverbs 31 kind of woman who for her husband “does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.” (Proverbs 31:12 ESV)  She is the kind of woman who “looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.” (Proverbs 31:27 ESV)  It is said of her, “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” (Proverbs 31:29 ESV)

Happy Birthday, Sweet Wife.  I love you and I am blessed by you.
