Seven Things Affected by the Resurrection

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is important.  Without it, there is no victory over sin.  Without it, we are dead in those sins.  But this past Easter Sunday, my pastor detailed seven additional reasons (summarized, he says, from a list of 22 items) why the Resurrection is important.

Without the Resurrection…

  1. The Scriptures would not be trustworthy.
  2. There would be no Great Commission.
  3. There would be no Ascension.
  4. The Holy Spirit would not be sent to us.
  5. There would be no Intercessor for us in heaven.
  6. There would be no Second Coming.
  7. There would be no Good News or Gospel message.

At times, I believe critics, of Christianity understand this better than Christians.  They understand that if the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is rendered powerless, then the rest of Christianity becomes powerless as well.

But the reality is there was a Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  And because of the Resurrection…

  1. The Scriptures are proved trustworthy.
  2. There is a Great Commission.
  3. There is an Ascension.
  4. The Holy Spirit was sent to us.
  5. There is an Intercessor for us in heaven.
  6. There will be a Second Coming.
  7. There is a Good News message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Amen and amen.
