Sunday Worship: Psalm 99:1

The LORD reigns; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake! – Psalm 99:1 (ESV)

As we read this (and as I write it), God reigns.

He is all-powerful. He is all-knowing. He is every where all of the time.

He is a just God meaning wrong will be punished. But He is also a good and merciful God. Because of this He has made a way for our sin to be handled.

He rules. He is in charge and not thwarted or diminished because of our lack of faithfulness.

God reigns. So what? What does this practically mean in our lives? Well, at the end of our lives I think it will become crystal clear to us. But as we live now, we should soak these things into our hearts and minds and let it mean something to us. Our response should be to seek repentance. Then our response should be to worship this God.

Let us do that today!
